A Help the Water Story
This is artwork and a story from a Grade 6 student, Ting, who Della worked
worked with at Garneau school in Edmonton. She had only arrived in Canada
from China in February,1996.
"Once upon a time there was a horse called Becky . There was a crab
called Lappy. They saw a boat coming. Children were in the boat who were
puttting garbage in the water as they laughed. A magic bird came who said,"Don't
put garbage in the water, the water gets dirty and the fish and water animals
cannot live."
The fish said." I do not like garbage in the water as the water gets
dirty."
The children said, " Oh, I see, we will help you".
They picked up the garbage and the water became clean."
