Joseph Chiang

Clay artist

Joseph Chiang was born in Taiwan in 1954, and has been interested in music, art design, sculpture and fine art since a young age. He has dedicated himself to researching and designing ceramics since 1984. Now his work is widely celebrated and he has won awards in coutries all over the world including South Africa, Japan, Taiwan,Korea, Australia, Italy and Canada. e.g 2003 - The 3rd Cheongiu International Craft Biennale (Korea) - 2002 M.I.C. Faenza International Ceramic Competion, Japan 2000- the 6th Taiwn Golden Ceramics Awards- to name just a few.

Josep spent his early childhood in Taiwan, then six years in South Africa and now is in Canada.

His work shows diverse style and orginality. He is very interested in education and has taught hundreds of students.
